Minerva May Honeycutt has had a makeover.
I know....
"finally."
She was really looking bedraggled after our long cold winter.
A new hat and hairdo,
along with some overalls and flannel blouse
(not to mention the necessary farmgirl apron)
and she is ready for a new season of tending garden.
She keeps the wild birds from stealing our strawberry crop...
and does a great job of it, too!
She's worth every cent we pay her.
My potato crop is flowering...
lovely, delicate lavender blossoms.
We should have a good crop this year from the looks of it.
If only I could keep the help from laying down on the job!

I just love Minerva! I believe she's about the cutest scarecrow I've seen. I think I'm going to make a scarecrow for my orchard.
What a cute scarecrow! I always plan to make one each year, but never get around to it. This year I'm going to do it!
Minerva looks wonderful and so refreshed..I'll bet she was glad to come down from her post even for just a little while..Good job Bev..
Yeah for Minerva! She looks lovely this year and so stylish, hee-hee! I wonder where you find all your energy? How about sending some my way! My Minerva still hasn't made it to my garden. There is always hope for this year. Enjoy your day!

Minerva looks refreshed and Tom-Tom is not resting, he is entertaining you, or checking the ground temperature, or overcome by....??? Well, maybe he is snoring.
Love Minerva! What is her hair made from???
Minerva's hair is braided baling twine from our hay bales.
She is darling...now I think she needs a Melvin! ;D
How in the world did she get the name Minerva?
Just found you and love your place and all that you're doing on your property. It so pretty. Minerva looks like she will be able to handle things. It will be fun to check in on you and see what your harvest looks like this year. It looks like you're off to a great start. Debi
